Brain vs Heart: How to decide?

We encounter decision making situations almost all the time. And we make decisions based on instincts, previous outcomes or purely based on emotions. Seldom we decide using logic.

The catch is logic at times fails you and instinct can be the winner which is kind of counter intuitive itself.

But based on what I have seen around me including my own life the following are my observations. You are free to disagree with me.

Almost all my life I have decided mostly based on emotions. And whenever I did so I faced failure. And whenever I have used solid logic and calculations I have come out victorious.

In my opinion when it comes to matter of relations, affection, love and such abstract human emotions one should let emotions decide.

But when it comes to career, studies, and anything that requires more brain than emotions let your brain do the work and keep emotions out.

We generally do the opposite and when we do so we lose.

As Sherlock said, "emotion is a chemical defect found on the losing side". He is pretty much correct.

If it is about love vs studies choose studies.
If it is about love vs career choose career.
If it is about family vs love let your heart choose it.

Main point is don't let heart rule where brain does the best work and vice versa.

Year 2018 - A wisdom gaining year- Money is everything

Hi dear.
I finally submit to the fact that money does matter in life. What doesn't matter is whether you are a good human being; whether you are a good teacher; whether you are ready to sacrifice your dreams your everything for your family or anyone else; you don't have money you are a no-body.

Good times earn you a lot of friends/relations. Bad times earn you the wisdom to see through the friends/relations.

And it is these momentary bursts of Bad times which actually teach you the life's actual lessons.

No matter how good you are in your life, job, or practically any aspect of your life at the end money matters.

The following song from the movie Bluffmaster (original) sums it up so clearly.

It hurts to submit to this fact that is staring right at my face. People will respect you if you have money. You are a drunkard, a chain smoker, indulge in every immoral act --but you have money --- you can buy everything.

People say money can buy a house but not a home because home is there where family is. But at the end of the day if you are earning just not enough then the same family which makes the home will see you as a necessary liability.

People say money can get you a bed but not sleep. Never mind. It can buy you sleeping pills.

Money can buy you visit to expensive hospitals but cannot buy you health. Bull shit! With enough money you don't have to worry much... you will not be depressed, not worry about future... not worry about your own family turning their back against you. And health is all about a calm mind. With money behind you you will have a calm mind.

People say money can buy you an expensive car but not a relation to sit with you in the car. Who cares. I still have the expensive car.

Just when you think your life getting sorted out--the bitch that life is will kick your balls and show you a new perspective.

Sometimes i wonder why i never cared about getting more money. I wish I had though about money as a good thing to start with may be i wouldnt be facing what i am right now.
